Inverted

(Sorry about the bad picture. I took it at 11:30 last night.) As I was sewing all those strips together, I remembered that the shop sample was an inverted trip around the world. And it was stunning. (It had to be, or I wouldn't have bought the kit, right?) So I decided to try that setting. Well, I think we have a winner. While watching Independence Day, I ripped the extra seams and laid this out on the floor. I really think it looks sharp. It is going to take a while to sew because I feel the need to pin every intersection. But I really think I will be proud to donate this quilt to Quilts of Valor when it is done.

It looks wonderful. It will be a lot of work to pin every intersection but I think it will be worth it.

Stunning, Jules. Yeah, I would pin too--but it's probably not really necessary. What a wonderful gift!

Oh wow, look at you! You've been busy! I agree, the inside-out TATW is the way to go. I've never seen one before and it is stunning.

I loved that setting! I made one like this last year and still remember that pinning wasn't the funiest part. Yours is stunning this way!

Have you named this quilt yet? I'm thinking "Trip to the middle of the Earth" since you turned the "world" inside out ;-)

I've never really wanted to make a TATW, but I like this variation A LOT!

This will be wonderful. And just take a deep breath and pin--it's worth it.

Hey Julie!

I love the quilt! What a lot of work. Good luck on the pinning. I'd be too lazy.:)

I love reading your blog (I think we have a lot in common) and missed you at the last CAQA (oops, I mean, Fiber Art Fusion) meeting. Hope to see you next week.

Wow - that's gorgeous. I've never done a full-sized quilt and even the small ones are so much work.

Really beautiful.

What a gorgeous quilt, and an interesting take off on the Trip Around the World. I do all that pinning for this type of quilt, and am teaching Mandy how to do that this week.

NICE! (I am working on a strip pieced project - mine will end up being 1/4 of a TATW.)
