Jumping in with both feet

I made a crazy quilt block to start embellishing with the 100 days thing. I loved Rian's monochromatic block, so I made my own monochromatic one. I am not sure I did it right, but I did it. It is about 13 inches square, because I was using a 13 inch ruler. (Who has ever heard of a 13 inch ruler?) I had some upholstery fabric from my mother-in-law's neighbor, so I combined that with regular quilting cotton. Here is a not so good picture of the naked block.

Here is a picture of the quilt I am working on quilting at the moment. It is my first of the pick 4 UFO challenge.

Here are a couple of pictures of my way too messy studio. I need to do some work in here. I need to get some new shelves, too.

I never did get Dave to bring my rolling chair down, so I brought down a lightweight folding chair. I really need the rolling one to be comfortable to quilt for a long period of time...

YAY a quilty post with pictures!

Are you going to keep your embellishments neutral too? (On the crazy quilt block)

I love crazy quilts, but I have NOOOO desire to do one - I tried once and was not satisifed. (I'll live vicariously through yours - so keep us posted!)

Hey Jules! Welcome to the couch--the naked block looks good! Dave, get your cute self down here with the rolling chair already! Sheesh. *grin*

I would never have pegged you for a neutral color gal. . .hopefully you will embellish that block with some "bold" colors! Let's not hold back!!

Wonderful space--I can see it becoming a real valuable space for you. Get Dave and that chair to work now!

What perfect timing the Tea with Betty Pillsbury was! I can't wait to see how your crazy quilt progresses. Come dig through my stash to see if any of my treasures might find a home on your block.

Love the pix of the new studio! Looks nice and roomy!

Aren't you amazed at how much "stuff" accumulates? I forget that I have some of the things that are not easily accessible. Keep posting as your studio gains a chair, organization, and more quilting activity.

Looks like a good block to me. A monochromatic crazy block whould be very interesting, and it could be beautiful. Keep posting.

Jules, I laughed out loud when I saw your sewing machine--or rather, the sewing table. I have one just like it that is probably as old as YOU are! Seriously. I used that thing for years until I got really serious about my sewing and moved up to big-time equipment. And is that an old, old Bernina sitting in it? Girl, I think you are a throw-back (an old soul)! Get Dave crackin' on that dreamy studio. It will be dynamite.
